Welcome to The Southern Basket! We are delighted you are here and looking at all the tasty treats and amazing goodies we are baking up in our home bakery.

The Southern Basket started in 2020 during COVID lockdowns when baking with our kids kept us all occupied and having fun. We realized that homemade baked goods that are thoughtfully crafted and made with attention to food allergies were a big hit in our area.

So who are we?

Laura is the head baker. She started baking early in life with her momma, Bonnie, and now bakes with her two children. Those East Texas family reunions and holidays gave ample opportunities for sandies, brownies, and pies to be tested and perfected!

Jake is the creative eye snapping those mouth watering photos and recording Laura as she artfully ices and decorates! He is also the taste tester!
