Cottage Industry

We are a home bakery based in Flower Mound, Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth suburbs). We are certified food handlers and follow all Texas Cottage Law requirements for health and safety.

Allergies

Many of our menu items can be made gluten free, nut free, or dairy free.

We are always a peanut free kitchen and a smoke free/pet free home.

Please contact us with any questions regarding dietary needs or food allergies, and we can tailor many recipes to your personal request.

Shipping

Some items can be shipped (i.e. cookies, breads, breakfast items, pastries & confections) during the late fall, winter and early spring.  We do not ship during summer & early fall due to the extreme heat in North Texas.

We ship via UPS (United Parcel Service) and shipping rates vary depending on the size and weight of the order.  Once shipped, a UPS tracking number will be sent to the customer.  

The Southern Basket is not responsible for delayed deliveries or damage to any orders during the shipping process.

Payment Policy

Customers are responsible for reviewing and confirming the order is correct before we accept the order.

Any questions regarding the order should be addressed during the confirmation conversation.

Changes to orders can be made up to 72 hours of the order due date.

Payment in full is required when we confirm and accept the order.

We accept Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check.

Cash or check payment will be made no less than 1 week prior to the order due date.

Returned checks will incur a $50 fee.

Refund Policy

We do not use preservatives in our food, and food must be consumed within 24 hours of pick up (or refrigerated/frozen if applicable).

We are not responsible for food that is not kept at proper temperature, correct humidity, or left at room temperature for longer than 24 hours.

We are not responsible for food damaged during customer transportation or third party shipping, since our products are fragile and can crack, melt, or experience icing bleeds if not handled properly.

Refunds will not be given for complaints regarding flavor, texture, color, or design since the customer verified the order during confirmation and before payment.

Refunds will not be given once food is picked up or delivered.

Delivery Policy

Delivery service can be requested for a $5 fee for most orders. The fee for multi-tiered cakes (that need to be transported and assembled on site) starts at $25.

Delivery options and pricing will be agreed upon during the order confirmation process.

Failure to be available during scheduled delivery times forfeits the delivery fee, and customers are then responsible for picking up orders.

Food Hold Policy

If a customer cannot make their scheduled pick up time or will not be available for their scheduled delivery time, they must notify us immediately.

Failure to pick up orders within 24 hours will result in orders being disposed of for health and safety reasons, and no refunds will be issued.
